- December 15, 2017 - The Federation Council scheduled the election of the President of Russia for March 18, 2018
- January 7 acceptance of documents from self-nominees has ended
- January 12 acceptance of documents from political parties
- January 2018 - the formation of polling stations
- Until 6:00 p.m. January 31, 2018 - submission of voters' signatures to the CEC (300,000 for self-nominees, 100,000 for party candidates),

Composition of the Central Election Commission (CEC)
The Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation is a federal state body formed in accordance with the election legislation, organizing the conduct of elections and referenda in the Russian Federation, independent of other state authorities within its competence.
The seventh composition of the election commission will be in force from 2016 to 2021. It includes 15 permanent members.
