20. Funnels on the Yamal Peninsula

In Siberia, in the summer of 2015, a crater with a diameter of about 100 meters appeared on the Yamal Peninsula in the ground. The demands of the terrorist were met by FBI staff, after which the plane took off into the sky and landed safely at the airport of destination. In the scientific world, it is generally accepted that the received radio signal is proof of the existence of extraterrestrial civilizations. However, the signal was hopelessly lost, and all attempts to catch it again were unsuccessful.

This is the name of the criminal case instituted in 1948 in the Australian city of Somerton. On the ocean shore there was a corpse of a man, in whose pocket they found a fragment with a phrase from Omar Khayyam’s collection of poems “Tamam Shud”, which means “completed”.

A piece of paper belonged to a book in a car parked near the crime scene. An incomprehensible code was recorded there, which the police could not decrypt. In addition, the nurse's phone number was recorded in the collection.

Later, during an investigation, a hospital employee told police that she had given the book to a man named Albert Boxall. However, after some time, a man appeared with the same name and collection with the same words "Tamam Shud."

2. Missing flight 370 Malaysia Airlines

2nd place goes to the disappearance of the whole plane. In March 2014, Malaysia Airlines flight 307 disappeared under strange circumstances. After departure for an hour, the plane gradually deviated from the course, but then simply disappeared from the radar's field of view.

No SOS signals were received, the flight went normally. 289 people were missing, the police still can not determine the reasons. The official version says that the plane crashed in the Indian Ocean, but no debris was found.
